Welcome Home!

Uncategorized

Laundry and “travelers” have been washed and dried … waiting to be folded. Hugs were received, gifts were given, birthday cake was eaten, the dog danced, stories were told, and some pictures were shown … before he fell asleep suddenly at 7. Now empty suitcases stand around like relatives on Thanksgiving. So good to have my man home. I though you might like to see some quick pics …

Even the dog was so happy and sang his “welcome home” song for a long time while he gave hugs (= blurry!).  Yes, that’s laundry on the floor and a carved elephant head in his hand.
And then there was the “big reveal” of my special project.  I felt like Ty on Home Extreme Makeover …

And my special project turned out awesome!  Jeff and I have planned to get our really nasty carpet of 20 yrs. replaced, including where it covered our bathroom (yuck!). We had budgeted the $, but Jeff has not had the time to get to any household projects for a while, and he was feeling behind in that area. So much to do, but so little time … So I secretly worked with a man from our church to pick out tile and have all the “mess” happen while Jeff was gone. He was totally surprised (NOT an easy task) and loved it! Whew!

More stories to hear, more pictures to see …

25 Things I’m Thankful for this morning:

  1. Planes that arrive safely and on time
  2. Pilots that fly planes
  3. Beautiful weather for flying
  4. Hours Jeff could sleep on the planes
  5. The first hug
  6. Friends overseas waiting for me
  7. Stories of how God is working around the world
  8. Prayers of friends
  9. A staff sister to wait with at the airport
  10. Staff kids running to see their daddy
  11. Jeff’s most wonderful assistant who does SO much to make this happen
  12. Luggage that arrived when the passenger did
  13. A doctor friend to answer a question
  14. Teenagers who hang on every word of every story
  15. A really long, tight father-son hug
  16. A huge daughter smile
  17. Laughter together about the adventures
  18. Pictures that help me “see” what he felt
  19. Dog crying at night to have more “Jeff” time
  20. Hamburgers on the grill for dinner
  21. No morning appointments, so he can rest
  22. Gifts from dear partners
  23. Did I say prayers from friends?
  24. 1 Peter 3:4-6 to set my perspective
  25. Having Jeff’s side of the bed occupied (dog doesn’t count)

So glad your man made it home safe and sound. He looks very happy about the bathroom. BTW, I love the color on the wall in your bathroom.

What others are saying

"Julie’s writings and teachings have been spiritual markers in my life. The deep knowledge of the Word she possesses, and they way in which she delivers it through her writing are deeply impactful. I would say that my favorite piece about Julie’s work is the way she speaks truth in love. She never waters down scripture to fit someone’s desires. And she does this with so much grace and compassion."
