Quick update on what we’re doing in Asia:
If you’re checking in, we’ve been busy so far with ministering in a local church, where our team shared testimonies and music and led in a children’s Sunday School. We’ve also had time with the girls and boys of the orphanage where our partners serve. There are almost 50 children in a wide range of ages. We shared Bible stories and lessons, testimonies, skits, music, games, and crafts.
Women’s Conference
Today (Monday) we are receiving about 85 tribal women from villages in the mountainous areas surrounding our host city. We will be having the first ever women’s conference for these ladies. In this region dominated by animism and idol worship, we will be focusing on “Trusting in the True God.” This will be like culture shock for the ladies to come to the training center and spend 3 days with us. Most of the women are illiterate, and few have a loose translation of scripture, so we will be doing a lot of Bible storytelling and teaching lessons from the lives of Biblical characters. We’ll also use our wordless skits about prayer, trust, and sin, along with more music, activities, and crafts. We appreciate your prayers to ask the Lord to bridge the culture gap and help the 8 of us love the women God brings and share His truth in understandable ways. We were given wonderful gifts to bring with us as “door openers” with the children and now with the women. I have no idea what it will be like to have a conference with tribal women … but I know it will be an adventure, and God is sure to work! This will stretch us all, but we are trusting in the true God!
I hope to share pictures on the Come Have a Peace FB page as time allows.
Thanks for praying!
