There’s no book like The Book to give us the true words of life. If I could only have one book, hands down, it would be my Bible. It speaks life to me from God’s heart daily, and I know I can depend on it. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever,” (Isaiah 40:8).
I also love when God uses positive and uplifting writing to provide practical help and encouragement to us in our daily lives. He wants us to think on “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things,” (Philippians 4:8). Over a recent long weekend, I read a fictional book that just refreshed my spirit and gave ease to my mind.
I hope your bookshelf (or Kindle shelf) is full of positive reads to feed your mind!
Look for me in Chicken Soup for the Soul!
I’m excited to be a contributing writer in the newest edition of Chicken Soup for the Soul. This is The Multitasking Mom’s Survival Guide, and I’m delighted to be Story #40! It’s based on a story that’s now a Sanders family classic, and I’m glad to say the day has come when I can laugh about it. I hope my story and those of the other 100 writers in the Guide will speak life for the thousands of moms who will read.
You can get your copy of The Multitasking Mom’s Survival Guide for yourself or as a Mother’s Day gift for a friend or loved one here.
Do you have a favorite book that speaks life to you?
