Today in our conversation on prayer, Heather and I talk about the question, “How do I pray when I’m distracted?” Every woman faces this challenge in every season, no matter what her status of life. We may find ourselves distracted, but we can overcome it and become women of prayer. When we do, we see God provide in amazing ways and we experience His peace.
How to pray when distracted
Jules (Heather calls me Jules 😉 ) ~ Motherhood guarantees no shortage of distractions in life. Children come with a long list of reasons to pray. No sooner do we bow or drop to our knees than thoughts of practices, dinner plans, and family schedules invade our sweet hour (or five minutes?) of prayer! If you battle distraction, you’re not alone. God longs for us to come to Him with our hearts fully engaged, even in the mommy years. For those without children, there is no shortage of distractions in life either.
Key verse: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”(Isa. 29:13)
Heather ~ I never knew how much motherhood would push me to my limits. Read the rest of today’s devotion, along with a prayer, here …

Stay with me for the next 6 days as we take this week to focus on answering questions about how to be women of prayer. I don’t usually post every day, but this is a great way to kick off August and something I’m excited about. I hope you’ll join me this week!
