Dear friend, I’ve been quiet so I wouldn’t add to your email heap or your mental mountain of information. Life in lockdown has added new thoughts, questions, and emotions for adults and children, alike. We all know we need to be still and know God is God, (Psalm 46:10) but the world works against stillness. Just staying home isn’t the same as “stillness.”
So today I’m here long enough to give you something. There’s no cost. I’m not asking for anything. I first made this for myself recently when we received notice that our “lockdown” would continue. My circumstances are so easy compared to so many others. Maybe you would say the same. But our challenges are still our challenges. So think of this as the opposite of Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or Giving Tuesday. I’m giving YOU something because my heart really is to bless and encourage you in your need for peace. I thought about saving it until after Christmas, but maybe you need it now. I did. I want to share this with you in case it is a help to you or someone you know. Share it with anyone else who might be feeling the pressure or isolation or funk of a restricted life. This is my personal planning tool for Life in Lockdown.
In the tool, the first page will get you thinking. Pages 2-6 will draw out thoughts about your limitations and needs, your opportunities and resources, and then truth leading to a simple and personal plan. The last page is a summary of encouraging scripture. You might want to print and display it.
