One of the past “hats” I’ve worn is that of a teacher. I’ve taught in public, private, co-op, and home school. I love teaching. Each setting has challenges that friends and parents and students can lift up in prayer. Prayer made me a better teacher, and when school starts, I’m reminded of how teachers need prayer. I think teachers at all levels, from pre-school to college, need these prayers. Teachers with prayer support make the best teachers. The best teachers have the most influence.
PAPERCLIP Praying for Teachers Reminder
Use this “PAPERCLIP” prayer reminder to pray for the teachers in your life!
Donna Vandygriff says
As a retired teacher with 25 years experience in teaching and administration I understand and appreciate the need for prayer for teachers. Teachers probably have the strongest prayer life of us all (I know I did!). So many students and families would touch your heart and you would do as much as possible to help, but you always felt it wasn’t enough. During my career, I have bought clothes, groceries, and even prayed with one of my students mother who was dying of cancer.
Thank you for this opportunity to tell just a small portion of what teachers do everyday.
Julie says
Oh, Donna, I pray God keeps blessing you for the investment you’ve made. I love the role of teacher, and yet I know that teachers will only know in heaven what was born from their ministry on earth. I’m sure there are changed lives out there because of your time ministering to students and families. Now you have great insight to be a power source of prayer!
Kelly says
I love the paper clip. I might give a copy to my girls’ teachers and let them know that I will be praying this for them throughout the year.
I feel like prayer has made a difference in our first week and half of homeschooling – we have gotten so much done and had fun in the process. When behavior issues come up (and whining!), I’ve handled it a lot better, and I know that is the Holy Spirit working in me.

Julie says
What a great idea Kelly! I love that. I hope they’ll be encouraged, and I know your “home school” time will keep bearing fruit!
Janet says
This is a wonderful idea. Prayer is definitely needed for all the teachers and everyone that touches our children and grandchildrens lives
Julie says
It’s one of those areas of my life where I know none of the time I’ve spent “there” has been wasted, and I can SEE the fruit from time on my knees.
Julia Reffner says
Love this reminder. I homeschool and if it weren’t for prayer I wouldn’t be doing so. This is a great idea for the paperclip.
Julie says
I want you to print this out and give it to your husband, your best girlfriend and anyone else who prays for you. You are a HOME SCHOOL teacher, and you need lots of prayer too. I cherish the days I had home schooling our kids. ENJOY! 🙂
Melissa Waters says
I love Thirty One. I have drooled over a lunch tote for about a year, what an awesome blessing to win!!!! I think this would make an even better gift, possibly teacher or children church teacher.

You are so cute. I will include a napkin if you win, so you can mop up all that drool. 😉 You would be SO KIND to give it away to a teacher!!! NOT that you have to 🙂
Maggie says
That is a cute lunch tote. It would be nice to have one of my own since I was borrowing one of my girl’s lunch totes this summer! ha!
Julie says
Isn’t that like a mom’s heart? We love to give the best “stuff” to our kids! I think that’s one of the ways we get to reflect the Lord. Maybe He’ll give you this one just for YOU!
Carla Poling says
Thanks Julie for the prayer guide. As the kids get older and have many teachers, I always get a copy of the kids’ schedules (even the college one) and divide them up among the weekdays for prayer.
Julie says
What a wonderful idea. Okay if I share that on the Facebook page?
Bridgette Boudreaux (@boudreauxb) says
Can’t wait to share this with our co-op teacher – complete with a paper clip of course!
Julie says
So glad to know it will be passed on. 😉
kare says
Oh yes, always need prayer for teachers. Now as as a homeschool mom in her 2nd year of homeschooling I especially need prayers. My kids do also take some classes at the school so this reference is a great idea for all of us to use daily for all teachers in our life.
Julie says
Have an awesome year #2! Those prayers are precious in every school setting, aren’t they?
Jeanette Edgar says
Just pinned this! As a mom of three (including high school, middle school and elementary) I have lots of teachers to pray for. Like the idea another reader provided of dividing the schedule up with teachers on specific days.
Julie says
I really liked that too. It makes for an easy to manage (and not forget) way to pray for all of the teachers. You DO have a lot to juggle on your prayer plate! Thanks for pinning.
Amanda says
Loved this post! My husband is in Seminary right now and we pray everyday for his professors! I also a nanny and I guess I just had not thought about praying for the teachers of the kids I work with. I am definitely going to start!
Julie says
I love hearing that, Amanda. Being a praying nanny makes YOU the best nanny ever!
Ria says
Hello,
I used to be a preschool teacher and believe me some days you truly don’t get by but on a wing and a prayer. LOL I think this is a great idea. i truly love the birds on the bag as well. I think that there should be prayer chains for people we don’t know like when you were little and sent your address on a balloon for a pen pal. A prayer pal. Then all the world will have someone praying for them. Not just the Teachers but all the worker bees!!! Great job Julie!!!
Julie says
Thank you! I know that some of my “grade A” teacher moments were because someone was praying for me. I used to love going in early and sitting in each chair to pray for wisdom and insight into that child’s needs. Maybe you need to send the first balloon! 🙂
Julia says
I always try to pray for my kids’ teachers (and their school), but it can be challenging to know what they might need specifically as I’ve never been in their shoes. Thank you for this!
Julie says
Your kids’ teachers and schools will be blessed because of your prayers, and that will trickle down to blessings for you home. You are welcome!
Wanda says
Love the visual paperclip prayer. Teachers are on the front lines and definitely need our prayers.
Julie says
Visuals help me remember what’s vital, and prayers for those on the “front lines” are so needed.
Tina says
I am teacher and covet the prayers of all.
Julie says
I will pray for you, Tina! Thank you for your investment in the lives of the children God has given you. You’ll only know in heaven how wide the ripples will go.
Maureen says
I love the paperclip acronym. It is great!

Thanks Maureen. It helps us to remember how to pray for those who have so much opportunity to influence.
