Today is Feed Me Friday but you’ll notice there’s no food. It’s not because I haven’t cooked, am sick or late or rude.
But in 5 weeks from this day our girl will move away, and things will never be the same for us after “that day.”
I knew that we were raising her for life out on her own, but “That won’t make it easy” say my girlfriends who have known.
Jo is starting college and this season will see change. Her world is getting bigger, and mine will rearrange.
It’s funny how when time grows short with hours running out, you choose a lot more carefully to say what you’re about.
This week we’ve grilled, made pizza, rolled bread and made a cake, but when it comes to blogging, I don’t want to take a break!
Instead I’ve chatted over tea and stopped for lunch for two, I’ve scratched out plans I had for lesser things to do.
And if I see she wants to plop down late at night to talk to me, I’m glad to lose a little sleep to love this chance to be
all here while my girl is here, before our life is new, to soak up every drop in this season that we knew.
So forgive me for not sharing a new dish or sauce or roast, but I’m with my girl who’s college bound and that’s what I love most.

This is sweet. We must put our children first! Mine are in the kitchen eating lunch while I’m at the computer. This is not good!! I will now go talk to them. Thanks. Enjoy your sweet Jo! (Did you know I’m Jennifer Jo? – see, even more in common now!)

No … I’m pretty sure we were separated at birth, and we’ve just been trying to get back together through things like naming my daughter, finding our husbands, building our snake pits … oh, wait! That was just you. š Enjoy your kids. Time goes by too fast …
