In February 2023 a 7.8 magnitude Earthquake struck Gilan’s home, followed by a 7.5 magnitude tremor. Entire cities were destroyed. Over 55,000 people died. Gilan had already been fighting her own battle to protect the life of her son who faced a serious illness since birth.
In the aftermath of the massive earthquakes, Gilan looked for a way to help her family. She taught herself to crochet. She wasn’t asking for a handout. She was asking for help to market what she can make – crocheted bags. She worked to improve the quality and style of her bags. Each bag and pair of booties was a chance to help her son and to help her family rise from the rubble.
Booties are available in size 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, and 9-12 months. Each pair is hand handmade of soft yarn. Like the little ones they’re made for, no two are exactly the same.

Gilan is thankful to live in a storage container for now, making bags and booties and caring for her son with a joyful and hopeful heart. Every pair of booties is made by this mom who knows what it is to give of herself in every way for her child.
Bags are perfectly sized by a cell phone, keys, and other small essentials. Made of sturdy, flexible cord, each bag comes in a vibrant color and includes one of Gilan’s signature “homemade” tags.
